Journey
Our prayer mats collection, is a collaboration between Lully Selb and Bynfitri. Our Journey both serves as the inspiration behind the designs and celebrates how we met. Nadia, the founder of Bynfitri, had been a supportive customer of Lully Selb. Although it started off as online conversations as Nadia would purchase Lully Selb's printed shawls, she would also drop by and visit our events and soon Selma, co founder of Lully Selb, and her became good friends. From the journey of supportive customers to friends, we share a vision of running a business that allows us to stay home and appreciate motherhood. As Lully Selb is known for our unique modern aesthetics and Bynfitri is renowned for quality, modern prayer mats, naturally we decided to join forces to create this collection.

Design Story
Journey is about our individiual paths in our spiritual space. Inspired by the essence of Islam itself, this series conveys 3 key messages - Ilm (knowledge), Iman (Faith) and Nur (Light) through three distinctive designs. With the borders shutting down since the Covid-19 pandemic started, we turned to our past travels for inspiration and hope. The beautiful land of Turkey is the inspiration behind these prints that contrasts the Islamic architecture of mosques with the overall natural landscape of caves and hill captured by Selma.

About the mats
Our prayer mats are fluffy, soft to touch, easy on your knees and provide the ultimate comfort for everyone – including the little ones to perform prayers. The newly improvised mat has extra padded foam and care instructions for you. Each mat comes with a special multi-purpose pouch. The best part is this latest version of the padded prayer mats comes with an anti slip bottom which is an important factor for our young and old.

 

Iman Padded Prayer Mat (Faith)
Is a depiction of one continuously going forward and upward as though metaphorically climbing a mountain, . We named this Faith, because in all that we do and in our daily routines, it is most important that we have ultimate faith in Allah to persevere with no matter how tough the path might be.

This design comes in adult size only, measuring at 68x122cm. Ilm Padded Prayer Mat (Knowledge)
Besides the magnificent mosques, Turkey is also known for its interesting natural landscapes from water, caves and mountains. This design conveys as though one is peeping through a keyhole where a vast of knowledge awaits you.

Nur Travel Prayer Mat (Lights)
This design is inspired by the uniquness of Turkish Mosques that are known for their famous hanging bulb lights. From the ancient times when mosques were first built in Anatolia, these bulb lights were hung right under the dome to brighten the space during the nights. They are so unique that most of the new mosques still use the same hanging bulb concept to light the way.
